More about me…

Hi! I’m Nicole and I’m so happy you’re here!

I was born and raised in California and feel pretty lucky about it. In college, I majored in Cinema & Television Arts with an emphasis in Screenwriting. Ironically, on the day of orientation, the head of the department said, “If you want to make a movie, write it as a book first.” I didn’t listen to that advice back then, but I kept writing nonetheless. Eventually, I went back to school for my master’s degree in Communication and later got my Single Subject Teaching Credential in English. I teach high school students and they’re always asking for updates on my book. They are so encouraging and some of the most supportive kids!

I’m passionate about a lot of different things but I’d say the most important are Taylor Swift and coffee. :)

I’m definitely an introvert (INFJ to be exact) and I think that’s why I’ve always gravitated toward writing. I do love deep conversations though. Creative discussions fill me with so much life and energy. Give me a topic I’m passionate about and I could talk for hours.

Traveling has also become one of my favorite hobbies! I studied abroad in Florence, Italy while in college. I took courses in documentary film making and travel writing. I also explored London and Paris recently, which was incredibly inspiring and something I’d been dying to check off my bucket list. European museums have a chokehold on me. While in New York, I also spent two full days mesmerized by The Met!

At my core, I’ve truly always been a writer but for most of my life, I never thought it could be a career. It was just something I kept doing because I needed to and I loved it. Sometimes, I think that’s how I process the world—through words. I once saw a quote that said, “We write down made-up stories to tell the truths we wish we could say out loud.” As someone who has a love-hate relationship with vulnerability, it’s been so fun getting lost in my characters. They feel like real people and it’s absolutely crazy to think one day you could know them like I do. Ahhhh!!!

“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside of you.”
